Living!

The lucky ones among us get a chance to grow up with our families which in most likelihood have a parental figure or two to provide for our education, medical care and learning. The lucky ones, someone calls us the lucky ones and we don't believe it. How can we be the lucky ones?

Everything is laid down for us - which school to go to, what subjects to study, the friends we are to make, the sports we are to play, the co-curricular classes that we take and all we are told is to make our families proud. Make our families proud, a goal we believe in and internalise without any resistance.

Everything is going well, when all of a sudden we grow up, we have to decide what to do and how to live our life. No one told us, but somewhere along the way, we became responsible to lead ourselves into our own lives! Be our own hero! Sometimes knowing this is not enough and we have to remind ourselves that today, we will lead the life that we want and be the person that we want. These are the days, when we do not want, we give ourselves permission to be who we are and we just are!

And within that one day, we live our lifetime!
