Is there such a thing as Artificial Intelligence?
Do you know what is the most common definition of nature?
"Nature is the phenomena of the physical world collectively, including plants, animals, the landscape, and other features and products of the earth, as opposed to humans or human creations."
A very egoistic and relative definition if you ask me. How about intelligence?
"Intelligence is the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills."
We assume human intelligence is the reference for intelligence. And nature is essentially dumb matter. And of course animals. But they are not intelligent like we are, right? We are creators, animals are not.
Really? Let’s dig a bit deeper. Where is our intelligence coming from? Haven’t we started as dumb matter too, before we turned into primates and humans? Who or what was the creator of that?
Nature created us. Nature is intelligent. And though it feels like we are independent conscious minds, we actually don’t have control. We follow Nature’s will. Like a bee, or a tree.
We are Nature.
So what is AI? AI is Nature making our minds believe we created something that is like us, and call it Artificial Intelligence. Isn’t it funny that we call things our human minds created ‘artificial’? The only reason for that is that we don’t consider ourselves natural, or part of Nature. I believe once we realize that, we will not have the urge to dominate Nature anymore. We will be more at peace.
