go be a problem solver
i used to think that i am a programmer. i have friends who think they are programmers or designers or editors or traders etc, and i don't think that's a great way to describe yourself.
i think a better way to describe yourself is to say that you are a problem solver, and i don't mean go be an entrepreneur, just think of your role as problem solving at your day job.
today you are designing posters for companies, tomorrow ai comes and makes that 10x easier. instead of thinking that your job is gone, you can think that i don't have to waste so much time editing posters myself, i can automate part of my job and go solve bigger problems or different problems.
the problems you solve can change, the tools you use to solve those problems can change but what remains consistent is that you will be solving problems and we have enough of those.
so now i don't call myself a programmer, i call myself a problem solver. people pay me to solve problems and those problems happen to be solved using code.
this frees me up to use weird tech and weird tools to solve problems for weird industries. one day i am solving a marketing problem for a bank using AR, next day i am solving education problems for a community using AI, next day i am solving a bug for google using golang. at the core, i am a problem solver.
