FIGHT BACK
I have always felt a lingering conflict about why people who take care of themselves get deadly diseases.
Isn't it better to not care about our health, if anyway we're gonna get those XYZ diseases? Why unnecessarily cut down on sugar? Why count calories for every meal intake?
Take an example:
Person X is a fitness enthusiast and consumes restricted diet.
On the other hand, Person Y is lazy, not very particular about what to eat, hardly manages to go for a walk and has no health issues, as such.
Both after a few years, develop cancer.
(whatsoever the reasons might be).
Seeing that both of them eventually get contracted by such disease, is taking care of your health actually very necessary?
In hindsight, definitely YESSSS.
In the above example- Person X is likely to recover faster and fight back the disease (you might argue that not always,* exceptions are always there *).
Taking care of your body not only makes you feel good and confident, it also gives you an edge to recover faster and gives you a better chance to fight off diseases.
A lot of people criticize people who work out to look good, but to me it's perfectly alright, if a person is intrinsically motivated due to whatsoever reason, it's absolutely alright.
Everyone wants to lead an active life, without being dependent on others for basic bodily functions.
So make your lifestyle changes accordingly.
It's your body, you get to treat it the way you want to.
