Anti-productive
I got a lot into productivity over the last few years. Trying desperately to be productive. Following all hacks and methods. But there's a theory, the more consciously you try to improve something, the worse you are at it.
Imagine you are driving, if you consciously try to drive better, your brain turns off auto-pilot and you drive worse. If you are playing a game of cricket, there comes a time where you don't even think, you are just in the game and you keep smacking the ball. You are good, but you are not trying.
As a teenager, I used to procrastinate a lot. I had no concept of self-help or productivity hacks. I just wasted a lot of time. Now that I think back, I actually learnt a lot in those years.
Now a days I realize the more I try to track my behavior and change it, the worse I become. I would be better off not trying to do anything at all. If I'd just let my brain run on auto-pilot I would probably be almost as productive or perhaps even better.
The harder I am on myself, things tend to become worse. Bad habits multiply, I spend less time improving and more time thinking about improvement.
From now on, I won't try. I am anti-productive. There's no pressure on myself to improve within a set of conditions or boundaries. Fuck productivity gurus. Fuck hustle. This is all just a game.
