A moment of rest at the end of times
(The following is a role playing diary written from the perspective of my Project Zomboid character)
Days became easier once I got a working car, tools, weapons and a nice place far in the woods.
I'm busy every day, yet sometimes I enjoy little moments like this more than before the outbreak. I was drowning in a badly lit office, with a mean boss and spineless coworkers. And the apocalypse is shit, really, I would have died this morning if it weren't for my scarf.
But moments like this, at night, in my porch... I really appreciate the silence, no one needs me here, no appointments, no taxes, no evil corporations. I look at the stars above me and feel truly free for the first time in years.
I know I won't die of old age, I'll run out of luck and that will be the end of me. But I made peace with that reality, right now I just want to breath and enjoy this feeling, this tiny moments of clarity.
I allow myself to rest in the light inside all this darkness, in my porch, under the stars.
