A different way of seeing 2 - listen to your close friends
Louis Pereira's perceptive post on not trusting intuition reminded me of something.

A dear friend once told me that when someone close - friend, family, colleague - says to him:
"read that book, its just your type of writing," or
"think about taking up tango dancing, you'll love it" or
"you must go to that restaurant, its exactly the sort of food you enjoy"
He tries his best to follow the recommendations, even if they go against his instincts or intuition.
This is not just about trust, it's more scientific than that.
The principle he follows here is this: your opinion of yourself and what you like or enjoy is only one perspective on the person you are. Someone close to you, who cares for you and knows you well has observed things about you that you will not have. Again, a change in perspective, a different way of seeing.
More often than not, he says, he enjoys doing what was suggested. I've been trying to do the same, with similar results.
